Class Descriptions
Spin/Circuit Training:
A combo class featuring:
Effective Strength & Balance, Spin, Obstacle Course and so much more. Circuit will vary each class to keep things fresh and fun. Spin is done outdoors in nice weather! During the summer, this class will include a Splash section, so wear or bring appropriate fitness swimwear.

Moving Meditation:
Enjoy the meditative calm of our surroundings as we connect our mind, body, and spirit with our natural environment. Class will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Simple Qi Gong exercises will start the morning to promote the movement of Qi (energy) through the body. These are gentle exercises and breathing techniques that increase general health and reduce levels of stress. The class will end with moving meditation practice.

Tai Chi:
This class begins with a warm-up consisting of gentle stretching, movement and breathing exercises. Individual and group instruction will focus on Tai Chi principles and postures and their applications. New movements are taught and old ones are reviewed allowing for individualized progression. Emphasis is placed on the traditional principles of Tai Chi and in learning the Form. The slow, graceful movements and controlled breathing harmonize energy flow in the body.

Hatha Yoga Intermediate:
This class will help develop a strong practice done for purification as well mental and physical health. The class draws upon a variety of styles such as Baptiste, BKS Iyengar, Ashtanga and Tripichore. The focus will include developing flexibility, strength and balance. Classes may incorporate advanced asanas such as inversions and arm balances, backbending and hip opening. In addition, each class will incorporate core work to develop a strong back and abdominals. Modifications will be given to make every yogi feel successful. Emphasis will also be given to those working on growing their personal practice. Instructor: Paula

Slow Flow Yoga:
The emphasis in this class will be to incorporate traditional poses into a flowing sequence that gently builds flexibility, balance and strength. Students will work on moving consciously with their breath and gaining body and self-awareness as a result. A strong focus will be placed on learning correct form for those who are new to yoga. A great class for beginners.

Yoga Fusion:
This class will integrate the mindfulness and stretching of yoga with a full body workout. It is geared to improve upper and lower body strength, tone the core, strengthen the back, and create longer and leaner muscle mass. A variety of equipment such as light free weights, weighted balls and bands will be used to keep the class fun and challenging.
All levels are welcome. If you’re looking to shape up, lose weight or mix up your work out, this will be a great class for you!

Dharma Yoga I, II and Gentle:
Dharma classes offer an authentic and spiritual yoga experience including pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation practice. The Gentle class is similar to the Slow Flow class and Levels I and II progress in difficulty, but they are not harder than the Hatha class. Modifications can be made in every class to meet the needs of all students so all levels are welcome.

Fitness Boot Camp:
A high energy fitness event. Two full hours of fitness challenges, designed for those that want to take their personal level of fitness to new heights. This is especially recommended for members of the Center Teams competing in the BoldRDash race on August 13th! .
Class must maintain a minimum of 5 to be held.

Zumba:
The only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive.

Dennis Bell: Email Dennis
Dennis is a certified personal trainer, and spin teacher. He serves as the Center's coordinator. Dennis is a high energy trainer, he is proficient and certified in numerous forms of exercise and fitness training. Dennis found his highest level of fitness after age 50. Dennis has an aquatic certification and holds Splash class in the pool in summer. In addition to being a fitness trainer Dennis maintains a post in medical administration with a clinical laboratory and is a professional motorcycle racer.

Joanne Gering: Email Joanne
Joanne is a Personal Trainer, insured and certified through the American Council on Exercise. After 20+ years in the fitness industry serving most populations, Joanne's experience has grown to include Exercise for clients with Health Challenges. With the necessary tools, Joanne can lead you to your personal fitness success.

Paula C. Paluch: Email Paula
Paula is a mother of 2 children, a wife and an elementary school teacher. Paula became a yoga instructor to share the joy she has found in yoga. Yoga’s physical and spiritual gifts have helped her find balance and strength in her life. She teaches for the town of Lincoln, RI and has a Masters degree in Education from Rhode Island College and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from St. Joseph College in West Hartford, CT. She has completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Yogafit training and completed an instructor training course with Baron Baptiste in Utah in the fall of 2009. She is excited to continue learning and growing in this path. In addition, she continues to develop her personal practice by reading widely and studying various forms of yoga such as B.K.S, Iyengar, Rodney Yee, Quantum Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga and most recently Tripsichore yoga. She believes in integrating the strength of each style and that the beauty of this path is that you are forever a student as well as a teacher. I have been teaching Wellness Education for the Taunton Public School System for 15 years, 7 of which have been at Taunton High School. I earned my MEd in School Administration in 1999. I have previously served on the executive board as President for Girls and Women in Sports for the Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education,Recreation and Dance.
I am the mother of two super great boys ages 11 and 7. I am also the future wife (11-11-11) of the most amazing man alive.
I LOVE to inspire people to be their best! I believe that we owe it to the world to be our best selves hollistically. Peoples health and well being is my passion. We are so powerful and sometimes it takes others or simply a hobby to realize that. Zumba is my hobby. It has brought me more than I could ever imagine. Along this journey I have met some amazing people who have also inspired me to be my best self..it is a path that goes full circle. You get in this life what you give...and that relates to everything. If you give your best physically you will get your best..and the list goes on. :)
